Description

Treatment of cattle, sheep, pigs, fur animals, dogs, cats and poultry patients with trichomoniasis, dysentery, diarrhea, colitis, stomatitis, as well as diseases of the respiratory system, genitourinary system, gastrointestinal tract and skin caused by microorganisms sensitive to metronidazole.

Composition

1 tablet (0.8 g) of the drug contains the active ingredient:

metronidazole – 250 mg.

Pharmacological properties

Metronidazole belongs to the 5-nitroimidazole group. The mechanism of action of metronidazole is the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitro group of metronidazole by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. The reduced 5-nitro group of metronidazole interacts with the DNA of the microbial cell, inhibiting the synthesis of its nucleic acids, which leads to the death of the microorganism. Application

Treatment of cattle, sheep, pigs, fur animals, dogs, cats and poultry patients with trichomoniasis, dysentery, diarrhea, colitis, stomatitis, as well as diseases of the respiratory system, genitourinary system, gastrointestinal tract and skin caused by microorganisms sensitive to metronidazole.

Dosage

Orally with food at a dose of 10-20 mg of metronidazole per 1 kg of body weight behind the active ingredient – twice a day for 5-7 days. If necessary, the treatment is repeated after 7-8 days.
